Mohican Wilderness Canoe and Camping Trip
Take I-71 South 47 miles (from Pearl Road) Take US-250 Exit 186 towards Ashland (0.3 miles) Turn LEFT onto US-250 W (1.5 miles) Turn LEFT to take US-42 ramp (0.2 mile) Turn RIGHT onto US-42 S (1.4 miles) Turn 2 LEFTS then RIGHT onto OH-60 South towards Loudonville (16.0 miles) In Loudonville turn RIGHT then LEFT onto OH-3 S (1.2 mile) Turn LEFT onto Wally Road (County Road 3175) (8.0 miles) (the last mile is gravel). Turn LEFT into Mohican Wilderness Campground. You must check in at the camp entrance gatehouse where you will receive a map of the campgrounds. Approximately 1 hour 50 minutes (81 miles)

Camp will include: Tent camping Friday and Saturday nights near the Mighty Mohican River, Well, sort of mighty at least it moves, and moves even faster when Dad pushes! 5-mile canoe trip on Saturday morning (bring your squirt guns and buckets) Crafts Saturday afternoon, and Hayrides Saturday Evening.
Also available: Putt-Putt at the campground for a small fee. Game room at the campground. Working blacksmith shop to visit. Baseball field, so bring your equipment, and make up some teams. Bicycle-friendly campground with bike rentals available. There is also putt-putt and go carts at Route 3 and Wally Roads.
This is not a YMCA camp. Food and lodging are not provided. |
